SCHOLARSHIPS
Urbana Theological Seminary values making training accessible to as many people as possible. To do so is an investment in the quality of the people who will minister and lead the church in the decades ahead. This value reflects our commitment to strengthening the church through sending out qualified, well-equipped people to serve the Lord.
The desire to keep high quality training accessible is why scholarships are so vital. Scholarships enable us to help students who have demonstrated financial need and also to recognize those students with exceptional merit in their gifts and skills. Though we aim to keep our tuition costs as low as we can in order to increase accessibility, there are still many students who struggle to come up with the funds for school. The pressures of working to cover expenses, time demands of a family, debt from college loans, disadvantages financially due to a minority status—all contribute to the big picture of individual students who would benefit greatly from scholarship help.
Let's remove the barrier of finances for many students who have a deep love for Christ, a calling from the Father, gifts of the Spirit, and a promising future serving in ministry! Together we can allow these students to focus on their vital theological studies, and not on scraping by or on the debts that would otherwise be accumulating. You receive the satisfaction of knowing that you have invested in people for the church's future outreach in a needy world. And in most cases the net cost to you will be lower than the dollar value of the gift, due to the charitable deduction received.
